Members of the House.
I will like to thank you all for keeping hope alive.
I appreciate the state chapters for their tremendous performance during the World Social Work Day , you are great and wonderful.
It was a great privilege for me to be in Port-Harcourt for the celebration and i was highly impressed by what i saw. Mayowa Cookey and her Executive have changed the narrative, from a dormant chapter to a vibrant and promising chapter despite numerous challenges.
Congratulations to all the State chapters.
To God be the glory, NASoW is now part of the Global IFSW Executive. We are grateful to God that one of our members made it to that level. The only way NASoW can be sensible to the blessing is to strengthen the state chapters across the country.
Resuscitation, reinvigoration, rejuvenation and inauguration of inactive state chapters must commence immediately.
All National Vice Presidents should immediately take proper control of their regions for positive outcomes.
State Chapters should do more in area of membership drive and resource mobilization in view of the visible challenges at the National level.
All Heads of Social Work Departments in our tertiary institutions should as
a policy register their graduating students with their professional association (NASoW).
Trained Social workers are expected to participate in the social, political and economic life of their professional association.
All State Executive should establish synergy with the School Heads of Departments.
The shared future for transformative change should not be a mere rhetorics. The change should start from us and the time is now.
Thanks and God bless.
Alhaji Mashood Mustapha,
National President,
Nigeria Association of Social Workers (NASoW)
